Tasting Notes:
100% Chardonnay
Focused and lively, this is a big wine with supporting acids that keep it light on its feet. Opulent aromas of pear, golden-delicious apple and crème brulée lead to lush flavors that mirror the nose. Finely textured with a long finish that ends with a subtle note of hazelnut.

"Pale gold hue. Shy aromas of tropical fruit and new oak. Tangy peach and apricot flavors with strong oak impressions. A well-made, tightly strung Chardonnay that unfolds slowly in the glass and finishes with peach honey and fresh acidity. "
Washington Post - September3, 2008
"Satin-textured and full-bodied with notes of apples and peaches, the 2006 Robert Mondavi Chardonnay Reserve ($40) from Napa Valley's Carneros region is largely (90 percent) barrel-fermented before spending about 10 months aged sur lie in oak."
California Grapevine - August-September 2008
Highly Recommended
"Medium-light golden yellow; attractive, forward, buttery, spicy, green apple aroma; medium-full body; crisp, lemony, green apple flavors; well balanced; lingering aftertaste. Fruit and oak seem harmoniously balanced."

"Over the years Mondavi’s Reserve has taken a turn toward Chablis. Fans of lush, super-ripe Chards will find it tart, but it’s really balanced and elegant. With a dry tang of minerals, it shows bright Meyer lemon, lime, pineapple and white peach flavors. One-third new oak adds creamy, smoky vanilla complexities. Should develop over the next six years.”

“Excellent! A full bodied, complex Chardonnay, in a supple, near-fleshy style. It is well balanced and long on the palate, with a persistent finish, tasting of apple, peach, roasted nut, baked pear, lemon peel, honey and spicy oak.”
