Important Shipping Information

All orders containing alcoholic beverages are shipped out from a licensee. We partner with Ship It Home to provide delivery of wine to 34 states. Wine shipments are currently available to the following states: Arizona,California, Colorado, Connecticut, District Of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Not all wines are available in all states.

The standard shipping option for most orders is Ground Delivery of United Parcel Service (UPS) for the last leg to the final delivery address.  In most cases—despite its name—ground shipping takes advantage of air shipment to an airport near the final delivery address and then (obviously) via ground to the destination.  We ship this way to control costs to our customers while protecting the quality of the wine.  Orders shipped by ground will typically arrive within 3-6 business days after the order leaves the warehouse.

Wine Orders

Distribution of wine orders is restricted to the states noted above.  Most items are available immediately.  If your order will not be shipped within five business days, you'll receive an email or phone call from our customer service department describing the cause of the delay and you'll be given a new projected shipping date.  If the new delivery schedule isn't acceptable, you may cancel your order and receive a complete refund.

Multiple Delivery Attempts

If no one is available to receive the package and it cannot be left in a secure location, two subsequent attempts to deliver will be made.  Wine orders require an adult signature so whenever possible we strongly encourage you to use a commercial business address to assure the fastest delivery time.

Back-Ordered Items

If one or more items that are to be shipped from our warehouse are on back-order we will hold the entire shipment unless you instruct us to do otherwise.  If you need the in-stock items of your order to be shipped without delay, please contact us via phone or email and we'll ship the in-stock items at no additional shipping cost.  If the back-ordered portion of your order is scheduled to be shipped directly from a manufacturer or other warehouse, we'll ship all in-stock items according to their normal processing schedule.

Benefits of Using a Commercial Delivery Address

We strongly encourage you to provide us, whenever possible, with a commercial address for the delivery of your order.  Having your order shipped to a commercial address provides the following benefits:

  • Wine orders require the signature of an adult.
  • Your order may arrive earlier - UPS commercial address deliveries for all levels of service typically arrive earlier in the day than those delivered to residential addresses.  Commercial deliveries usually occur before 4:30 p.m. on a normal business day.
  • You won't need to worry about missed delivery attempts
  • You'll likely experience fewer driver errors - UPS drivers know their commercial routes like the back of their hands, so fewer driver delivery errors occur with deliveries to commercial addresses.

Wine Products Credits and Replacements

In the unlikely event of damage to a wine shipment, please contact our Customer Service department to arrange for wine product credits or replacements. We will issue a credit or replace broken bottles only. Although wine products cannot be returned, we'll work diligently with you to resolve any damages incurred through shipping.

Non-Wine Products Credits, Returns and Replacements

Please contact our Customer Service department prior to returning a purchase so we can discuss the best solution to any problem you may have encountered with a non-wine product. We will issue a credit, replace the product or authorize a return, at our discretion.

Security Policy

We understand and share your concerns about online security so we work diligently to keep our site a highly secure ordering environment so you can shop with confidence.  Our e-business software and your appropriately maintained browser software provide advanced security for your online purchases.  Our site makes use of the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol and 128-bit encryption to provide the highest level of security available.  Your order will be processed by World Shop Gourmet, LLC.  We handle all order processing and contract with third parties for order fulfillment.  Your credit card statement will list World Shop Gourmet as the merchant for your order.

Making a Purchase with a Browser That Doesn't Support Security?

You can't.  We don't want you to have to worry about ordering from our site without a secure connection so we've designed our system such that it processes orders only with browsers that support secure mode.  The latest versions popular browsers have security features and all are free for downloading.  Visit the browser company's web site for details.
